MALS-31 Executive Officer

Maj Meghan Kennerly attended the United States Naval Academy and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in English. 

Commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, she was assigned to Echo Company at The Basic School and graduated in January 2003 as 6002 Aircraft Maintenance Officer.  After completing follow-on schooling, 2ndLt Kennerly reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 31 (MALS-31) at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Beaufort, South Carolina.  She was assigned as the Aviation Life Support Systems Officer.  In October of 2003, she detached with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 122 for a Red Flag exercise at Nellis Air Force Base.  Upon her return, Headquarters Marine Corps selected MALS-31 as the test bed for AIRSpeed and she was tasked to lead those efforts.  In May 2004, while designing and implementing AIRSpeed, 1stLt Kennerly was assigned as the MALS-31 Quality Assurance Officer.

In April of 2006, she was transferred to Marine All Weather Fight Attack Squadron 332 as the Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer (AAMO).  In September of 2006, she detached to Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course as the Maintenance Material and Control Officer (MMCO) for the CH-46, CH-53, and KC-130 detachments.  Upon return to MAG-31, Capt Kennerly was transferred to MALS-31 as the AAMO from January through March of 2007. 

In April, she transferred to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 251 as the AAMO/MMCO and deployed with the squadron from July to December 2007 aboard the USS Enterprise in direct support of Operation IRAQI/ENDURING FREEDOM. 

In February 2008, she was accepted to Expeditionary Warfare School, Quantico, Virginia as a member of the class of 2009.  Upon graduation, Capt Kennerly was assigned to Officer Candidate School as a summer augment.

From September 2009 until November of 2013, Capt Kennerly was assigned as the AAMO, Aviation Logistics Division, U. S. Marine Forces Command (MARFORCOM), Norfolk, Virginia.  In December she was reassigned to Headquarters and Service Battalion, MARFORCOM as the Operations Officer until she was transferred to MALS-31 in July of 2013 where she is currently serving as the Executive Officer.
