VMFAT-501 Executive Officer
Major Andrew R. Christ

Major Andrew Christ graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. Following graduation, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.

After earning his Wings of Gold, he received orders to VMAT-203 to undergo flight training in the AV-8B Harrier.  Upon completion, he remained at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC and was reassigned to the "Great American Bulldogs" of VMA-223.  As a Bulldog, Captain Christ served as the S-1 Officer, Powerline Officer, Quality Assurance Officer, and Assistant Aviation Maintenance Officer, Pilot Training Officer, and Assistant Operations Officer.  Captain Christ attended WTI 1-15 and was subsequently designated a Weapons and Tactics Instructor. Upon return to VMA-223, Captain Christ served as the Pilot Training Officer and Assistant Operations Officer. While serving in VMA-223, Captain Christ deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as well as the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.

Upon completion of his tour with VMA-223, Captain Christ attended resident Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, Virginia, followed by orders to Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One.

At MAWTS-1, Major Christ served as the Fixed Wing Offensive Air Support Specialist in the Aviation, Development, Tactics, and Evaluation Department. He also served the AV-8B Division as the Anti-Air Warfare, Countersea, and Night Systems Low Altitude Tactics subject matter expert.

Major Christ reported to Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501 in June 2019 where he has served as the Student Pilot Training Officer and Operations Officer.
